Meditation The St. John's Shambhala Meditation Group is part of Shambhala, an organization dedicated to the view that a dignified life based on meditative understanding is accessible to everyone and can blossom into an enlightened society. Contemplative practices bring into our ordinary lives a natural sense of goodness, fearlessness, and humour.
Mindfulness meditation is the foundation of all that we do in the St. John's Group. Originating from Shakyamuni Buddha, this 2,500 year-old practice of self-discovery is rooted in the simple but revolutionary premise that every human being has the ability to cultivate the mind's inherent stability, clarity and strength, in order to be more awake and compassionate in everyday life.
